Agent Ink is a trailblazer in the world of custom apparel, specializing in crafting pieces for a broad spectrum of streamers. What began as a venture catering exclusively to e-sports teams has blossomed into a brand that resonates with various streamers, including a rising population of v-tubers. Facing the challenge of appealing to two distinctly different audiences, my task was to develop a brand that would unify them under a single, exciting visual identity.
My goal was to conjure a brand that resonated with fun and artistry while still exuding boldness, creativity, and a futuristic allure. Drawing inspiration from the captivating world of Japanese design and anime to engage the v-tuber audience, I simultaneously infused elements from science fiction and space-age aesthetics to connect with the game streamer crowd. The end result is a unique design style blend that’s vibrant and inventive, cloaked in a layer of space-like intrigue.
Agent Ink’s prior logo, characterized by a futuristic typeface and interconnected letters, needed to evolve while preserving its intriguing nature. The new direction required a more mature look that would capture the brand's essence in a fresh and inventive way.
I embarked on the design process with an intent to craft a custom logotype that was bold yet approachable, masculine yet feminine. The key was to use thick, daring shapes while softening them with rounded contours, resulting in a type that was inviting and stood out.
The journey began with sketching and exploration, testing various shapes and curves that translated into the desired feel. After a series of iterations, I pinpointed the concepts that encapsulated the ideal blend of audacity and gentleness. From that point, the design underwent meticulous refinement to ensure each letterform was balanced, legible, and exuded the brand's modern, space-age appearance.
Agent Ink's new logo is a testament to a design process that embraced creativity, bold thinking, and a deep understanding of diverse audience needs. It reflects a brand that is both forward-looking and grounded in its roots, ready to embrace the future of streaming with a design that speaks to all its audience members. The Agent Ink project was a fulfilling journey that challenged me to merge different worlds into a coherent, exciting brand, making it a highlight of my portfolio.
